CHAIRMAN’S MESSAGE

On behalf of all Board I can inform members that I am very happy with regard to the progress of our year so far and am sure Rosny Park will again be successful on and off the green.

The Opening Day was a big success with Vi Kitchen throwing the first kitty and Mick Riley sending down the first bowl of the season. They have both been great contributors on and off the green for our club and deserved the honor given to them. Unfortunately the weather has severely affected our play on the greens ,but it is hoped this will change soon.  Again I thank the many members who continue to do a wonderful job around the Club.

MENS NEW SHIRTS

As most members know the Club has ordered new shirts for the men which will be the same design as the ladies. We have been promised they will arrive before the start of pennant.  They have been sponsored by our great new sponsors Aequis Financial Services.

SOCIAL NEWS

Our next function will be a meal  on Friday 9th October, followed by meals on 23rd October and 6th November and then the combined Christmas dinner with the Clarence R.S.L. on Sunday 6th December 2009. The cost for all meals must now be paid in advance over the bar, because there has been non attendances. The cost will be $35 all inclusive for the Xmas dinner. Notices will go up soon and payment in advance is to be made over the bar to Greg and the bar staff. The Sundowners will provide the music. Dianne Petrie is again the Provedore and general allround organizer and Bev Gillie and Gary Bygraves are the Social Committee and we look forward to many great times together. We are also having a New Year eve party and notices will also be posted soon. Tony Voglino has been booked for the music.

WEDNESDAY/BAREFOOT BOWLING

This great adjunct to Rosny activities will again be strong this year !!!!!  This now ranks as one of the greatest bowling events ever to be arranged by members of our Club. We owe a lot of thanks to Co-ordinator John Boatwright and his team of helpers viz. yours truly, cooks Alec McKay and Sam Kelly Brown, on the green helpers Max Pennington, Geoff Frier and Neil Winthrop and others.  The financial return is huge and we are obtaining a few pennant players from this group.

SO WHY NOT HELP AND ENSURE THE CONTINUED SUCCESS OF THIS GREAT VENTURE.

SOCIAL BOWLING

We are again trying to get the TuesdayTriples up and running . If you can help with Social bowls by introducing a player bring them along on Tuesday.
